There will soon be more steelhead trout for Pacific County anglers. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife said in a recent news release they will be planting surplus steelhead from hatcheries into area lakes for year-round fishing. Those adult steelhead will be going in Black Lake, Cases Pond, Snag and Western lakes in Pacific County. Lakes in Cowlitz country will also be stocked for year-round fishing. Steelhead fish, which can live in both fresh and saltwater, was named the official Washington State fish in 1969 and can grow to 55 pounds and 45 inches in length.
