The first of six community input meetings focused on how to eliminate one campus from the Hoquiam school district happens tonight. In a recent special meeting, the school board directed to begin working on plans to reduce the 5-school district down to four. Board members said while the district has declined in numbers over the past two decades, the square footage has stayed the same. Reducing to four operating campuses will allow more money for needed repairs and upgrades to the remaining schools. Tonight’s meeting is set for 6pm at the high school. The public is invited to attend.
