Longview Mayor Pro-Tem Kalei LaFave is under fire after a viral video appeared to show her hitting a protester with a “Christ is King” sign at Saturday’s “No Kings” rally. LaFave says she didn’t strike anyone on purpose and claims she was shoved and spit on in the chaos. The woman who filmed the clip, Andrea Nimmo, says that’s not true and plans to demand LaFave’s resignation at an upcoming city meeting. Organizers say the event drew over 2,000 people and was overwhelmingly peaceful aside from that confrontation.
