Mason County sheriff’s department is unveiling a new Citizens Reporting feature on its website and will no longer be responding to certain calls in person.
In an effort more effectively protect and serve the community, the Mason County sheriff’s department is unveiling a new Citizens Reporting feature on its website and will no longer be responding to certain calls in person. Those calls include Frauds, Harassing Phone Calls, Identity Theft, Lost Property, Thefts, Thefts from Vehicles, or Vandalism. Authorities say due to historic increases in reported crimes and limitations on available Patrol Deputies to respond, deputies must try to triage what types of incidents they can respond in person to.
