A Pacific County man will spend 50 days in jail for illegally “snagging” salmon. Court records show officials began their investigation into the Long Beach resident back in August. State Fish and Wildlife officials say the man is a habitual offender, with other snagging offenses record in 2020, 2021 and last year. Along with spending almost 2 months behind bars, the man also must pay a $1,500 fine and can not have a fishing license in the state for 5 years.
