The Pacific County Sheriff’s Department took to social media to warn the public that there are a lot of scams that are trying to take your money. The scams that have been reported are based on three categories: romance, investments, and extortion. The Sheriff’s Department said that in the last two months there have already been scams reported in Pacific County resulting in $1.5 million being lost. If you feel uneasy about a possible scam, reach out to family, friends, or law enforcement about suspicious activity.
