The State Department of Labor and Industries is fining the Stafford Creek Correctional Center over
$84,000 for failing to control the spread of TB. Back in April the state department of health discovered
Washington’s largest outbreak of Tuberculosis in the past 20 years. The State found that workers at the
DOC facility had not receiving properly fitted N-95 masks that could have prevented the spread of the
infection. The DOC has 15 business days to appeal the citations and must post them for employees to
see.
