The 5,500-acre conservation area provides critical habitat for up to one million migrating shorebirds each year, as well as eagles, elk, and a wide variety of other wildlife.
Through next month, Fish and Wildlife staff will use unmanned aircraft systems to collect updated habitat data, with a focus on forested areas near Westport and Montesano.
The agency said there will be no public closures associated with the flights. All drone operations will follow strict safety and privacy guidelines.
