Parents in Montesano are being warned after tests showed unsafe lead levels in water at all three schools. A letter sent out August 26 said 57 outlets came back above the state limit, including one kitchen faucet at Beacon Elementary that tested sky-high at 764 ppb. The district says it has already capped fountains, posted “Hand Wash Only” signs, and replaced kitchen faucets, with more testing still to come. Superintendent Dan Winter says lab results will be shared online by the end of the week along with a full action plan.
