Aberdeen Police Arrest Two in Internet Crimes Against Children Investigation

Detectives with the Aberdeen Police Department arrested two 33-year-old men on the morning of June 11 as part of an ongoing Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation.

Detectives with the Aberdeen Police Department arrested two 33-year-old men on the morning of June 11 as part of an ongoing Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation.

The investigation began after the department received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children regarding suspected online material involving the possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct originating within the City of Aberdeen.

According to Aberdeen Police, detectives conducted an extensive investigation that led to the identification of two suspects and the development of probable cause for their arrests.

Following the arrests, detectives executed search warrants at two residences as part of the investigation.

Both men were booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail on multiple felony charges, including Possession of Depictions of a Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct, Dealing in Depictions of a Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct, Indecent Liberties, and Voyeurism.

The Aberdeen Police Department was assisted during the operation by investigators from the Grays Harbor County Sheriff's Office, the Grays Harbor County Drug Task Force, the Montesano Police Department, and the Vancouver Police Department. The Vancouver Police Department also deployed an electronic detection K-9 trained to locate digital storage devices.

Authorities say the investigation remains active, and additional follow-up work is ongoing. As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
