Montesano voters will decide whether to renew a property tax levy that helps pay for fire and EMS, police, public works and other city services. Proposition 1 would set the 2027 rate at $3.22 per $1,000 of assessed value and run for six years. The fire department says the money would help add two full-time firefighter-EMTs and keep a two-person crew on duty 24 hours a day. Town halls are set for October 7 and 21.
