Primary Election Results Begin to Take Shape Across Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties

The first unofficial results from Tuesday’s primary election are in, with several local and legislative races taking shape ahead of the November general election.

Grays Harbor County Primary Election Recap

In the race for U.S. Representative in Washington’s 6th Congressional District, incumbent Emily Randall leads the Grays Harbor County vote with 48.95%. Teresa Fox currently sits in second with 24.55%, followed by Leon Lawson with 19.74%. Randall and Fox are currently positioned to advance to the November general election.

In the 19th Legislative District, incumbent Jim Walsh leads Kevin Moynihan in the State Representative Position 1 race, 53.07% to 46.76%.

For State Representative Position 2, Terry Carlson leads with 45.03%, followed by incumbent Joel McEntire with 35.39%. Jimi O’Hagan and Daniel William Bradley are currently trailing.

In the 24th Legislative District, Adam Bernbaum leads the Position 1 race with 50.47%, followed by Eric Pratt at 29.74%. In the Position 2 race, Marcia Kelbon leads with 42.58%, while Kaylee Kuehn is second with 26.29%.

Locally, the Grays Harbor County Commissioner District 3 race has Stan Sturgeon leading with 55.34%, followed by J.R. Streifel with 29.47%. Gordon Mitchell currently trails with 14.79%.

For county offices:

• County Assessor: Incumbent Dan Lindgren leads Josh Nuxoll, 54.32% to 45.49%.

• County Auditor: Charlee Paull leads Brielle Joyce, 54.01% to 45.85%.

• County Prosecutor: Jason Walker leads Daniel Crawford, 51.22% to 48.68%.

• County Sheriff: Darrin Wallace leads Edward Welter, 59.96% to 39.55%.

• County Treasurer: Shawn Hill leads Wes Cormier, 54.47% to 45.38%.

Uncontested county races included Kym Foster, who received 95.62% of the vote for County Clerk, and George Kelley, who received 98.57% for County Coroner.

On local ballot measures, South Beach voters approved the South Beach Regional Fire Authority bond with 59.45% support. Fire District 7 voters approved the ambulance excess levy with 58.87% voting yes. Fire Protection District 12 voters rejected the proposed EMS levy, with 76.47% voting no.

Pacific County Primary Election Recap

In the 3rd Congressional District, incumbent Marie Gluesenkamp Perez leads Pacific County voting with 40.26%, followed by State Senator John Braun with 32.21%. The two candidates are currently positioned to advance to the November general election.

In the 19th Legislative District, Jim Walsh holds a narrow lead over Kevin Moynihan in the Position 1 race, 50.98% to 48.80%.

For Position 2, Terry Carlson leads with 48.45%, followed by incumbent Joel McEntire with 34.68%.

County races include:

• County Assessor: Bruce Walker leads Jeffrey Phelan, 59.21% to 40.28%.

• County Auditor: Nicole Deskins leads Dotsi Graves, 50.76% to 48.82%.

• Prosecuting Attorney: Jennifer Zorn leads Michael Turner, 57.96% to 41.60%.

• County Sheriff: Daniel Garcia leads with 46.23%, followed by Rich Byrd with 34.43%.

• County Commissioner District 3: Pattie Gray leads with 27.51%, followed by Jerry Doyle with 23.49%.

Uncontested races included Emma Rose for County Clerk with 98.79% of the vote and Sheila Didion for County Treasurer with 98.89%.

On ballot measures, South Beach voters approved the South Beach Regional Fire Authority bond by a 69.31% to 30.69% margin.

Washington elections are conducted by mail, and additional ballots will continue to be processed and counted before final results are certified. Updated results will be released as counting continues.
