Our First Post 5PM Sunset In 3 Months Happens Tonight

The darkness is fading and slowly but surely the days are getting longer as our first sunset to happen after 5pm is slated for this evening. Since "falling back" and turning the clocks back one hour last fall, we've had sunsets in the 4pm hour and many days it felt like 7pm at 3pm but as we've gotten through the winter months and January, there is more light on the horizon.

I've noticed it while leaving the YMCA after my workouts, which I usually leave the gym around 5-530. Over the past few days, I've noticed that I'm NOT leaving when it's pitch black which is pretty cool. This also means that before we know it, we'll be "springing" the clocks forward one hour and really getting more daylight. Although we still have to get through February, we'll gain a few minutes more of daylight everyday until we do spring forward which will be on Sunday March 12th.
