A herd of bison caused traffic chaos near Elma early this morning after escaping and wandering onto eastbound SR-12 near the SR-8 interchange. According to Grays Harbor Scanner, officers shut down both eastbound lanes as they worked to wrangle the animals, one of whom apparently has a fondness for bread. This is the second time the bison have gotten loose in the past week. The owner responded to the scene by helicopter and helped guide them off the roadway.
