A former Ilwaco fire chief will not go to trial next month after his attorney waived his right to a speedy trial during a Pacific County Superior Court hearing Friday. Jeffrey Archer remains in the Pacific County Jail facing 51 felony charges involving alleged crimes against minors dating back several years. The judge struck the March 9 trial date, and a new date has not yet been set. Archer was fired from his position in January following his arrest and continues to maintain his innocence through his defense.
