Homeowner was using a propane weed burner behind the house and had gone inside.
There were no injuries reported from house fire on Easter in Aberdeen. The call came in from the homeowner around 1:45pm yesterday afternoon about the fire on Sumner Ave. 12 firefighters total responded to help put out the blaze, 10 from Aberdeen and 2 from Hoquiam and it took around 25 minutes to get the fire under control. According to a press release from Aberdeen Fire, the homeowner was using a propane weed burner behind the house and had gone inside. Wind apparently blew some of the burned material and caught the siding on the home on fire, prompting the homeowner to call 9-1-1. Fire crews estimated about $15,000 in damage was done to the home.
