The Washington State Senate has approved money for the Hoquiam and Aberdeen levee project. The $18.5 million was approved in the senate budget last week. The total levee project is expected to cost $160 million with $125 million already secured, largely from federal dollars. The language in the sensate budget proposal says there would be more money for the levee in the 2023-27 budget. The house budget is due this week and lawmakers will have until April 23rd to agree on and pass a budget.
