A 54-year-old Westport woman was taken to the hospital Friday afternoon after the motorcycle she was riding collided with a pickup truck at an Aberdeen intersection.

A 54-year-old Westport woman was taken to the hospital Friday afternoon after the motorcycle she was riding collided with a pickup truck at an Aberdeen intersection.

Aberdeen Police Officers responded at approximately 12:35 p.m. September 18 to a reported vehicle-versus-motorcycle collision at West State Street and South Alder Street.

According to the preliminary investigation, the woman was traveling eastbound on West State Street when a 2022 Ford F-150 entered the intersection from South Alder Street.

The pickup, driven by a 45-year-old Poulsbo man, had stopped at a posted stop sign in the 400 block of South Alder Street before proceeding into the intersection.

The motorcyclist attempted to avoid the truck but was unable to prevent the collision.

Aberdeen Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and transported the motorcyclist to Harbor Regional Hospital for medical treatment.

The driver of the Ford F-150 was issued an infraction for failing to yield the right of way to the motorcycle.
