The messages claim their loved one can be released for $800 or risk being placed in “general population,” where they could be hurt. Investigators say Several women have already fallen for the trick and shown up at jails expecting to pay. Hoquaim Officers say it’s a scam, and that jails will never text or call asking for bail money.
