Another warning is being issued about the dangers around Damon Point after a person and their dog became stranded there Tuesday afternoon. Emergency crews in Ocean Shores were called out, and the Coast Guard was notified, but the stranded individual was eventually picked up by a private boat before rescuers stepped in. City officials say Damon Point remains closed because shifting tides and erosion can quickly trap people in the area. Leaders are warning that anyone ignoring the closure could face fines or even be billed for rescue efforts if they get stuck.
