Timber Thefts Lead To Arrests

A timber theft investigation outside Aberdeen led to multiple arrests and the recovery of stolen cedar worth over $2,500.

A timber theft investigation outside Aberdeen led to multiple arrests and the recovery of stolen cedar worth over $2,500. Fish and Wildlife says last week Officer Larry McOmber first caught two suspects hiding behind a stump with freshly cut cedar and tools, who later admitted they intended to sell the wood for profit. Shortly after, a nearby trail camera and a tip from a Grays Harbor sheriff’s deputy led McOmber to a residence where more stolen cedar was found. All suspects face multiple charges, including theft, trespassing, and illegally harvesting forest products.
