The Coast Guard has issued a proposal to design and produce up to six heavy weather boats to replace its retired 52-foot fleet. One of the new vessels will be stationed at Grays Harbor in Westport, with others deployed to key Pacific Northwest locations for extreme weather search and rescue missions.
