One person died and another person was injured a kitchen fire Tuesday morning in Longview. The initial call was for a chair on fire in a house. Then a call indicated smoke and flames coming from the house and a person was possibly still inside. Firefighters arrived six minutes after the first call to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the back of the house. While searching the home and putting out the fire, crews found one person dead inside of the home. Another person escaped with burn injuries. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, but it appears to have started on a stove.
