Aberdeen City Council Voted To Uncommit $7 Million For Aberdeen Gateway Center

Now city officials will seek out grant dollars to fully fund the Gateway Center project.

The Aberdeen City Council voted this week to uncommit $7 million that had been promised to build the
Aberdeen Gateway Center. Last year the city said it would put up that money that would come from an
insurance settlement. Within the last year, city leaders say bigger priorities that a tourism and visitors
center came up and back in August, council made a motion to put that $7 million back into the general
fund. Now city officials will seek out grant dollars to fully fund the Gateway Center project.
