Firefighters were dispatched around 6pm Sunday to Cosmo Specialty Fibers for a fire in their hog fuel pile.
The Aberdeen and Hoquiam Fire departments responded to a hog pile fire this week in Cosmopolis. Firefighters were dispatched around 6pm Sunday to Cosmo Specialty Fibers for a fire in their hog fuel pile. Units arrived on scene to find spot fires throughout an acre pile of hog fuel and fire around 40 feet up in one of their product lift stations. Grays Harbor Fire District 2 was also called out in case the fire spread. The Aberdeen and Hoquiam departments along with Cosmo personnel were able to take control of the blaze.
