HB 1054, passed last year, severely limits when an officer can give chase in a vehicle.
Another police pursuit in Grays Harbor was called off yesterday. Grays Harbor Scanner reports just after 5pm, an Ocean Shores police officer was in pursuit of a four-wheeler who was said to be driving recklessly when the chase was called off by a police supervisor. It’s unclear if the chase was stopped because of so called police reform laws, but there officials in some departments in Grays Harbor that are frustrated by the new law. HB 1054, passed last year, severely limits when an officer can give chase in a vehicle.
