Apprenticeship available to Elma High School students

Students at Elma High School will be the first in Grays Harbor to get a chance to sign up for a one-of-a-kind apprenticeship today

Students at Elma High School will be the first in Grays Harbor to get a chance to sign up for a one-of-a-kind apprenticeship today. Through the school’s Career and Technical Education Department, a select group of students are being offered apprenticeships in the Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee.  The AJAC program was established in 2008 to keep skilled employees in aerospace and advanced manufacturing fields. The program works with 15 high schools across the state and offers an alternative to college with a career path straight out of high school. Since this is the first year with Elma high school there will only be 5 students participating, but that number could grow.  A signing event will be held tonight at 5:30 at the high school.
