Demolition of the building on Wishkah Street in Aberdeen owned by Grays Harbor Transit Authority got
underway this week. The demolition is the first step in what will eventually be the site of the transit
authority’s major expansion project. The teardown being done by Ascendent Demolition is costing just
over $275,000 which is coming out of the GTA’s general fund. Next in the process will be to apply for
grants for the new center that is estimated to cost around $6.5 million. Officials at the transit authority
say the actual building of the new center won’t begin for a few years.
