Two city council races and a mayoral race in Grays Harbor will have a ballot recount next week. By law, a recount is required when the results of a race are separated by less than .5, or less than half a percentage point. The three races that will have recounts are a Cosmopolis city council race, an Ocean Shores council seat, and the Aberdeen mayoral contest. Per election law, since all three races have margins of less than .5 percent, but more than .25 percent, the recounts can be done by machine. County officials say rarely does a recount change the certified results. The recount will happen Wednesday December 9th at 9am.
