The Elma Police Department has released a letter to voters explaining the importance of the upcoming replacement tax levy. The letter discusses the continuing financial impact of recently purchased body cams & dash cams for officers. Staffing was also explained in the letter and how the need to increase the number of police officers will be coming soon. The replacement levy will take the place of the one expiring this year. Officials say your tax rate will stay the same as it is now, meaning the average $300,000 property, that pays $15 in taxes now, will be paying the same under the replacement levy. The vote happens on August 1st.
