Hoquiam and Aberdeen fire departments both responded to a residential kitchen fire late Saturday. The fire that was called in for the 100 block of Spender in Hoquiam was a duplex and fire crews say everyone inside made it out unharmed. Officials add that the quick action from residents using a fire extinguisher helped to slow the spread until firefighters arrived. An investigation into the cause is ongoing. There is a go fund me account to help the family of 6, who lost everything in the fire.
