Floating Wind Farm Proposal Submitted By Seattle Company

The turbines would be placed about 43 miles offshore and connect to Grays Harbor PUD Substations.

A Seattle based company has submitted a lease request to begin building a floating wind farm off the coast of Grays Harbor.  Trident Winds says it would be the first offshore wind farm in Washington State. The turbines would be placed about 43 miles offshore and connect to Grays Harbor PUD Substations.  Trident Winds says this project would produce enough electricity to power 400,000 homes in western Washington. A final decision isn’t expected until 2028, and if approved, the windfarm is not expected ot start producing energy until the year 2045
