GH PUD Reports Increase In Outages Compared To Last Year

Due to weather and car accidents.

Grays Harbor PUD has released its 2021 Reliability Report and it shows a significant increase in power outages compared to the year before.  Of the 312 major outage events, two dozen accounted for the largest number of customers impacted and number of hours without power.  Those events included an ice storm in February, windstorms in October and December, and a handful of car accidents that brought down PUD poles.  65% of the total outages last year could be traced to tree, wind, or storm related causes.  The good news is that there was a decrease in the number of outages caused by equipment failure in 2021 compared to 2020.
