Grays Harbor Commissioners unanimously approve the creation of a new County administrator position at this week’s meeting. Powers granted in a new state law allow counties to hire delegate some of the managerial responsibilities to an administrator. A consulting firm has been working with the county to build a profile of what the new position will entail and will soon start the recruiting process. It’s estimated that the process will take a few months. The county budget, which was approved in December allocated a salary of $174,000 per year for the position.
