Engineer/Paramedic John Phillips left Wednesday as part of the Thurston County Rapid Extrication Module System team, which provides emergency medical care for firefighters working in remote backcountry areas. Hoquiam Fire officials are wishing Phillips and the team a safe and successful assignment.
