The mother of missing Oakley Carlson avoids a trial on charges unrelated to her daughter’s disappearance. The trial of Jordan Bowers on charges of identity theft was set to get underway yesterday with jury selection. Published reports say Bowers accepted a last-minute plea deal for a 36-month jail sentence. With time already served and sentencing guidelines making her eligible for 12 months of community custody, Bowers may only serve another year behind bars. Bowers could have been sentenced to over 30 years in prison if found guilty on the identity theft charges.
