Complaints from dozens of tenants at an Aberdeen mobile home park have prompted the Washington State Attorney General’s office to get involved in what’s described as illegal rent hikes. The A-G’s office sent a letter last week to the owners of the Leisure Manor Mobile Home Park requesting they refund the rent hikes. Residents said after Hurst and Son LLC bought the park in 2021, their rent was raised by 37 percent. The A-G’s office said while the amount of the rent hike isn’t breaking the law, adding in a rent increase on non-lease renewal dates is a violation of the Mobile Home Landlord-Tenant Act. Hurst and Son LLC has until October 17th to either contest or concur with the findings.
