Man Over 55 Dies Of Possible Botulism

GH Health warns of possible improper canning techniques.

The Grays Harbor County Public Health Department wants to remind you to always follow safe practices when canning food at home. The announcement comes after health officials say an Aberdeen man over the age of 55 died this past weekend due to a possible case of botulism.  According to the CDC, botulism is odorless, tasteless and even a small amount can be deadly.  To avoid this deadly toxin, you are reminded to always use proper canning techniques and equipment and to throw out any items that may have not been properly preserved.  To get more information of proper canning practices, you can go to CDC.gov
