Police say an employee at the Oceanside Motel was stabbed after he confronted a guest about stealing his cell phone.
New details about the deadly stabbing earlier this week at a motel in Hoquiam. Police say an employee at the Oceanside Motel was stabbed after he confronted a guest about stealing his cell phone. Investigators say 25-year-old Armando Reyes was working in an empty room next to the suspects room and left to get some tools. When he returned, his phone was gone. He confronted the suspect, Michael Trujillo after watching security footage. Police say Trujillo gave the phone back and then stabbed Reyes multiple times. Trujillo ran off but was later caught by officers. He now faces murder charges. Police add that Trujillo had been staying at the motel since January, after getting released from prison for manslaughter.
