Elma is finally moving forward on what to do with the old police department building. After months of discussion, the City Council voted unanimously to start drafting a lease with the Chehalis Valley Historical Society, while also working out an agreement with East Grays Harbor Fire and Rescue. The idea would let the historical society begin using the building now, while keeping the property available for a future fire station. If that project forces the group out, space would have to be included for them in the new station. Final approval still has to come back to the council.
