Port Of Grays Harbor Commission Selects New Deputy Executive Director

They selected Leonard Barnes as the Port’s next Executive Director following the announcement that Gary Nelson will retire next year.

The Port of Grays Harbor Commission has selected Deputy Executive Director Leonard Barnes as the Port’s next Executive Director following the announcement that Gary Nelson will retire in 2024. Barnes joined the Port of Grays Harbor in 1984 and since 2005, has served as Deputy Director, overseeing the Port’s business development, industrial property leases, and airport and marine terminal operations. Barnes said he is grateful for the vote of confidence from commissioners and is honored to be leading what he called the awesome staff in place. Director Nelson will stay on until March.
