The official announcement came this week from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.

New record setting Mahi Mahi was just caught off the coast of Grays Harbor. The official announcement came this week from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife about the 21lbs 42-inch Dolphinfish caught about 40 miles off the coast. The department said the fish was caught by angler Wade La Fontaine on August 25th aboard a charter boat based out of Westport. After the catch, the fish was inspected by a state program biologist and weighed on a certified scale. The previous record was 16.2 lbs and was caught back in 2013 out of Ilwaco
