A garage fire sent crews rushing to the 100 block of Schafer Meadows Lane South near Montesano yesterday evening.

A garage fire sent crews rushing to the 100 block of Schafer Meadows Lane South near Montesano yesterday evening. Grays Harbor Scanner reports smoke and flames were visible through the roof around 6:15 p.m. with concerns the fire may have spread to nearby brush. Firefighters faced delays getting equipment in due to a bridge that couldn’t handle the weight of larger rigs. One engine made it across and crews began attacking the flames from there.
