The Quinault Indian Nation Fisheries Department has announced they are closing fall salmon fishing early in Grays Harbor and are advising the state of Washington to do the same.
The Quinault Indian Nation Fisheries Department has announced they are closing fall salmon fishing early in Grays Harbor and are advising the state of Washington to do the same. In the letter sent yesterday, Tribal officials call to close the season early and is in response to the low number of adult salmon this season. This is the second letter sent to the state since the end of October with the state fish and wildlife department responding earlier this month saying although the coho salmon return is less than expected there is still a lot of uncertainty.
