Starting July 1, 2025, hunting and fishing license fees in Washington will increase for the first time since 2011, following new legislation signed by Governor Bob Ferguson. The law raises fees by 38% and adds discounts for seniors and disabled veterans. While the hike boosts revenue for the Department of Fish and Wildlife, much of it will offset rising costs and reduce reliance on the state’s general fund. A new Columbia River salmon and steelhead endorsement will also be required beginning January 1, 2026.
