The Pacific County Sheriff’s office is reporting an incident in the county jail where an inmate attacked two deputies. Last weekend, Rudy Rodriguez was in custody awaiting transfer to Lewis County on a felony warrant when he began experiencing a mental health episode. During attempts to de-escalate the situation, Rodriguez attacked and injured two deputies, leaving one with a broken nose and fractured wrist. The inmate was subdued and not injured in the incident. He was transferred to the Lewis County Jail earlier this week and Pacific County officials are still investigating the attack to see if charges will be filed.
